Government Employee People Search

If you are trying to find a person who is a government employee there are a number of places to look online.  There are free sites and sites that charge for information.

One of the most extensive and organized websites designed to help look for government employees is www.usa.gov.   This site helps you look for people by searching for federal, state, local and tribal government.  The categories are subdivided into agencies.  In addition, there are links that can take you to agencies by region to narrow the search.  For instance, if you know that the person you are looking for worked for a particular agency in Pennsylvania, you could start by looking there and widen your search if you are unable to locate the person you are looking for.  When you are looking for people by agency it can also narrow your search.

Another way to search for government employees is to look by state.  There are websites for each state and each county, and these sites will take you to employee lists.  You can either look up the state, by typing in the state name.gov (Utah.gov) or simply typing in the name of the state, such as state of California, into a search engine such as Google.

To find county employees, you can type the county and state into the search engine, such as Brevard County Florida.  This will bring up various sites, only one of which is an official county website.  The official county website will be divided into sections and one of the sections should say something such as “employees” or “personnel” to identify where you can click to try to locate a person that works for that county.  City websites are similar.  You would simply type in “City of Riverside, California” and you would be taken to a page of websites, one of which is official and lists employees and other information.

Finding a government employee is easier than it might sound, and with so much information on the internet, it should not be very difficult to find the person you are looking for.
